Costa Rica's Porn Viewing Habits

Costa Rica may be a nation of just under 5 million people. But it ranks 69th (yes, you read that right) in the world for viewing porn on the Canadian website, Pornhub. 

According to the Alexa 500, in the top 500 websites on the web, Pornhub ranks 35th, one spot higher than Google.es or the “Spanish Google”. In Costa Rica, Pornhub also made the top 40, ranking as the 39th most popular site in the country.

The website has provided #Tribuna with data from this past 2017, with insights on Costa Rican viewers’ watching habits.

Costa Rica has one of the highest proportions of female visitors, which stands at 37%, while the rest of the world’s average is 26%. The average visit duration is less than 10 minutes: 9 minutes and 48 seconds. 

American pornstar Dillion Harper was the most searched for person, followed by Mia Khalifa, Colombian Esperanza Gomez, and Alexis Texas. The 23-year-old Spanish pornstar (and only male on the list) was “Jordi ENP” who came in fifth.

The top 3 searches for the country in 2017 were “Costa Rica”, the animated category “Hentai”, and “Lesbian”. The top three categories were “Lesbian”, “Hentai”, and “Threesome”.

Costa Ricans were 25% more likely to view the “Transgender” category and 33% more likely to view the animated “Hentai” category when compared to other countries. They were also 85% more likely to view the “Latina” category and 66% more likely to view the “Porn Parody” category when compared to visitors from the rest of the world.
